I am a creative professional with over 15 years of design experience. I have a wide range of experience designing print and electronic materials. I enjoy collaborative problem solving and like to come up with creative design solutions to complex problems.
My background is in fine arts; I have a bachelors in painting, drawing, and printmaking. I began my design career as a print designer for White Wolf Games where I designed game cards and books. I worked for Merge, a design firm in Atlanta, where I designed corporate annual reports and specialty print pieces. After moving to North Carolina, I worked designing trade magazines for Journalistic, Inc. I currently work for the UNC School of Government; I began as a book designer but have worked for the past several years in the marketing department, developing a branded and unified look for the School. I’m also a freelance designer, I’ve designed books for The National Dance Association, and have also designed CDs, posters, and stickers for several local bands, as well as WXDU radio at Duke University.
I’m also a musician and radio DJ .

Design print material, including books, catalogs, posters, displays, magazines, brochures, game boards, course and promotional material for the School of Government. Responsible for the implementation and consistency of UNC’s branding for the School, including a unified look of template papers and binders for use in School of Government courses. Design and maintain marketing booths and displays for conferences. Design electronic material, including web graphics, apps, logos, and online ads. Direct photo shoots for events and products, and maintain an extensive photo archive using Adobe Bridge. Was art director for the current website and helped design instructional materials for lecturers and Faculty. Created and implemented a school-wide production and project database using Filemaker Pro.

Assisted in the design and production of trade publications, including Quick Service Restaurant, SignBuilder Illustrated, Backlist, and the Association of Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchisee magazines. Was responsible for layout, art direction, and illustration. Photographed on assignment as needed. Met strict deadlines and helped manage magazine output from initial design through proofing stage. Skills included organizing advertising placement, spread layouts, art choice and placement, and some art direction.

Assisted on design of annual reports, pamphlets, invitations, newsletters, and numerous specialty projects at this small design shop. Managed projects, met with clients, and supervised printed output. Worked with 4 to 6 color print jobs, metallic and PMS colors, die-cuts, and packaging design. Coordinated all aspects of printing process and press checking. Clients included: Goodwill Games, Melita, The Attorney’s Title Insurance Fund, and Siemens Corporation.

Responsible for all aspects of book and game card design; from organization to layout, cover and package design. Proofing skills, 4 and 5 color separation, game card organization, and very complex card layouts under tight deadlines. Designed a font with designer Ash Arnett (font name Ghengis), and illustrated several maps for game projects. Selected games include Rage, Arcadia, and Vampire: the Masquerade. Archived books on CD-ROM and kept an ongoing record of those archives. Cleaned and maintained film processor and imagesetter.

Lighting designer, stagehand, roadie. Was Lighting Designer for rigs up to 400k, did some rigging and stage construction. Worked setting up local lighting for touring rock and country groups. Some theater lighting and corporate events. Rode in trucks all night, worked at several festivals and charity events in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
