strategic product development - An extensive strategic research showed that Holland Scherming could increase its market share by replacing screens in modern, high greenhouses. Currently no company is capable of doing this because the right tools are not available. For us the task to design such a tool.

usage - The tower wagon moves like a harmonica through the greenhouse. One of the carts is always attached to the truss structure of the greenhouse.
Because only five units were needed and Holland Scherming does not produces any products, the whole product is build up out of standard components and components from existing products.

Control Unit - Controlling two carts instead of one had consequences for the interface. On the one hand the small batch size (2x5 pcs) limited the possibilities for the control unit. On the other hand the user interface had to be as intuitive as possible to prevent dangerous situations from happening. In addition the interface had to fit to the ungainly workers replacing the screens.
