Professional Development:
PromaxBDA, NYC June 16-18, 2009
I was invited to work with the PromaxBDA promotion department to explore new methods of using social media for the conference. We produced video interviews of conference speakers and attendees, and posted them to YouTube. We established a Twitter hash tag and promoted the interview postings via Twitter and Facebook. We also sat in on the conference sessions and events, reporting quotes and pictures from the conference speakers via Twitter. The project was a success, allowing attendees to be more knowledgeable about the conference they were attending and allowing members not attending the conference to be part of the proceedings, while getting a sense of the information available at the conference. We measured the success of the project from number of views on YouTube and Re-Tweets on Twitter.
