This is a post card I designed for Sofitel. It's for their loyalty/rewards program. The guest would sign up for the progrm and as a thank you, Sofitel would offer her/him a large custom printed complimentary iconic photograph from an exclusive collection. So far this specific offer is made available at their Beverly Hills location.
When a supergroup of some of the best jazz musicians on earth ask you to design their album cover, you say yes. I had the pleasure of collaborating with artist, Valentin Tuncboyaciyan on the design. She drew the funky cool face on the cover. I wanted the feel to be part art rock, part ECM. They were all super pleased with the result.
This is the feature story spread from the design I did for Mediaplanet Canada. This was from the Intellectual Property (IP) issue that was featured in the National Post. IP is such an important issue and I felt that the color red accentuates that importantance. The late Steve Jobs was the cover story, and the cover features a younger photo of him with a light red background which compliments the dark red in a vintage sort of way.
This is a sales sheet I did for The Nation for their New York City issue. This would to potential advertisers. I wanted to go for a infographic type feel, but at the same time be clear and direct for client.
Harvest Song (Craft and Artisanal Preserves) and Armenia Fund USA partnered recently to do a great thing. For every purchase of a custom gift basket five dollars will be donated to Armenia Fund USA. I designed both the postcard and banner that is on the Harvest Song site.
At the request of the Director for NYU's Graphic Communications Management & Technology program, I designed a post card for a direct mail campaign. I wanted to come up with something different from what GCMT tends to release. In comparison I feel this is a bit more appealing, appropriate, and representative of my alma mater's program.
This is a catalog I designed recenty for 90Grand. 90Grand has one of the largest collections of licensed images from legedgary photographers Brian Aris, John Stoddart, Frank Worth, and others. This catalog features all the images and prints they have to offer.
DorAid America is a non-profit, charitable, and out-reach organization. It is the American branch of Dorcas Aid International, headquartered in the Netherlands. This is a brochure for DorAid America's upcoming Spring fundraising campaign. This is another straight forward tri-fold brochure. Following Dorcas Aid's corporate branding and identity, I came up with something that is a little bolder and sleeker.
This is a poster I designed for the JEI's annual essay contest. They wanted something more modern and fresh in contrast to what they usually put out. there.
Spread of Mediaplanet's cancer issue.
Publication: Magazine Cover for III Magazine
Publication: TOC for III Magazine - This is the table of contents for the same project.
Poster - Poster for Dragons of Zynth. I must have been listening to a lot of Otis Redding and At the Drive-In at the time.
Identity for Jove Jewelry - This is a logo and identity I did recently. It was for Joseph Ashkarian, a talented Michigan based jewelry designer. He wanted something classic, but with a modern twist. He wanted a brand name that would resonate with potential clients. I thought of Jove, which of course means Jupiter. The ancient Roman ruins of The Temple of Jupiter, adorned with lionheads are located outside his home town of Anjar, Lebanon.
Cover for Perspectives On Global Issues - During my time at NYU, I had the pleasure of being the design director for Perpectives On Global Issues (PGI), NYU's Center For Global Afairs' scholarly journal. This is the cover for the Spring 2010 issue.
Editorial: Spread for HX Magazine - This is a feature story for the April 2007 Health Issue. I tried to come up with something interesting and visually appealing. I think it worked well, especially for a magazine like HX. For legal purposes, there actually was a need for a litte Photoshop work to be done. Though, I'm sure their readership wouldn't have minded otherwise.
Editorial: Spread for HX Magazine - This is a spread from the HX Magazine's Music Issue.
Poster - Poster for Fundraiser Event
Brochure: North Hudson I.V.F. - I collaborated with Print Solutions on this brochure for North Hudson I.V.F. This is the inside cover for the brochure. We wanted a suggestive feel throughout. The imagery we chose really brought out that quality.
Book Cover: The Thirsty Enemy - I did this cover recently for Dr. John Markarian, the founding president of Haigazian University in Beirut, Lebanon. He gave me a folder of photographs for me to choose from. This photo immediately captured my attention. Taken by Harry Koundakjian, veteran Associated Press photographer soon after Dr. Markarian's office was bombed out, it embodies the essence of his memoir.
Identity: Sterling Motors - I had to come up with a new logo for General Motors for an assignment and I decided to go a completely different route than what was expected. I wanted to design something completely unapologetically American with a nod to vintage auto logos. For this version I decided to go with the fictitious Sterling Motors, a name which fits the old American theme.
Editorial: Magazine Cover - This was a gift for a friend. A spoof/mimic of Magnet Magazine. I saw this picture and it screamed, "Magnet cover!" Country Dog, City Boy.
This is a card I designed for AMAA's Fall Appeal. This card is easy to read, airy and not overwhelmed with too much copy. Through the use of an autumn color palette, clean type and bright images, this campaign speaks to the organization's professionalism and its commitment to humanitarian relief and social outreach.
