Sani Tap (Involved designer: Yusuke Koyama) - There is a sanitation problem with tap water in public places and the H1N1 epidemic has caused quite a scare recently. Therefore it is becoming increasingly important to solve the sanitation problem in public places.
With this new and innovative tap the original layout of the valve and outlet has been changed. The valve and tap have been positioned in such a way that while you are washing your hands the same water will clean up the tap.
Resonance - Generally, blind persons usually don’t know water level when they refill drinks. By applying a Physics principle of Resonance, an innovative structure of the cup could solve the problem successfully.
Tyndall - From Physics to design
This design used Tyndall Effect in Physics to achieve the innovative light effect.
