With over 15 years of experience as a designer on footwear, sport goods and consumer electronics, I am now in charge of the footwear design at Jack Wolfskin. My mission is to refresh JW's footwear design and lead internal/external designers.

    I joined Jack Wolfskin with the mission to raise the footwear design to a significantly higher level. When I started, in June 2014, there was a lot to progress on the design and quality of the shoes. Even if the numbers had been growing in the past years, there was still a real potential in footwear that poor quality and outdated design could have jeopardized.
    My first collection, SS16, was well appreciated by the sales forces with good results in sell out. After that quick first shot, I started to create and implement the design language to give a consistent identity to our shoes, and to resonate with the brand’s foundations and values.
    Since December 2014 I mentor a junior designer who already progressed a lot. And since June 2016, I hired a new designer to join the footwear design team that I am leading.

    2007. Senior designer
    Leader in making the winter boots more trend relevant. From utilitarian to desirable with a huge success.

    2010-2013 lead designer trail running (ss12, ss13, ss14).
    The brief for ss12 was to do as good as the competitors, my will was to do better through innovation, based on athlete insights. I created a strong and functional design identity, with some innovations on footwear and backpacks. The new products got a very good recognition from both the users and the press, with significant sales growth.

    2012-2013. Lead designer summer footwear (ss13&14).
    I gave a new creative direction for Quechua summer shoes, more athletic, with new colors, materials and process with a special focus on lightweight and seamless. I managed the design projects, leading 1 junior designer and 3 external designers, that I sourced, briefed and followed to maintain and nurture the design directions and to meet key dead lines.

    2013-2014. Lead designer winter and hiking footwear (FW14/15).
    I translated the brand’s new design language into a strong design identity and a clear range from entry price to premium. I collaborated on some of the projects with external design resources.

    I did several marketing analysis and design propositions for the European market.
    I designed home appliance and consumer electronics products.

    2003. Brand strategy analysis. 2003 was a period of reconstruction for Daewoo. So, from my point of view as a designer, I realized a brand strategy analysis to point out how we could rebuild the brand’s relation to its consumers, and how the design could participate in it. My boss and I presented it to the CEO in Seoul.

    2004. Design language. I had the opportunity to design many home cinema elements in the same period. So I could create a full set (CRT TV, LCD TV, DVD player, HDD recorder, speakers, and TV stand) with a consistent design language.

    First design approach of the new low and mid range binding and definition of the specifications for the design consultants. Design of ski/binding interfaces such as maxflexII, of the race toe piece and various accessories using pro-Engineer and pro-CDRS. Commitment in a project team for a new ski/boot/binding global concept within the whole Rossignol group. Management of the product range cosmetic improvement.
    Three years professionnel experience as an industriel designer, in commitment with other departments and very close to the products. Reinforcement of my technical background, especially regarding plastics working (injection molding) and finishing. Training on CAD programme (Pro-Engineer & Pro-CDRS). Design and research project management.
