"The Josiah Wedgwood Design Competition invites the top talent from America's top design schools to conceptualize and design tabletop inspired by the rich heritage of the WWRD brands."(Waterford, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton)
The challenge was to delve into the history of the WWRD brands and reinvent a classic design for the table that is relevant for today's consumer. The three universities invited to the competition were Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design and Parsons. Accepted works were from individuals or groups of a maximum of four participants, and each university could submit a maximum of five works to the competition. The jury panel consisted of seven industry design and marketing professionals.
