CubeKit Circuit Building Kit - RSA "In The Round" Brief
The brief for this group project was set by the RSA as a student design award competition. The brief required a product to be designed that engaged teenagers with the 3D and helped them to understand how things worked. Our group identified circuitry as one of the most confusing things to learn and so set about simplifying them.
The product consisted of a set of clear plastic cubes containing a circuit component. These cubes could be connected in any orientation via magnets to create a working circuit (a working prototype can be seen in the second picture above), and allowed children to build a 3D final product. The obvious wiring and components allows the user to clearly see the flow of current, and the product is near infinitely re-configurable.
This set of PDF's documents our attempt to address this complex and dynamic brief in an innovative and exciting way.
