cardboard.theupsstore.com - FWA Site of the Day Using advanced 3D modeling technology, we created a cardboard world online that taught users about The UPS Store's products and services through a series of games. As a writer I had the delightful challenge of weaving the story of Joe Biz, a small business owner who navigates his way through an average day on his way to the big presentation at The Coliseum. Voice over guides the user through an adventurous, non-linear story.
Cardboard World - Main navigation page. - We created an environment that the user completely controlled. Pushing and pulling themselves through the site gave users a tactile feel, and ultimately increased engagement.
The Document Services landing page - Like all the landing pages within the site, Papervision allowed the users a 360-degree view accessed either by clicking or sliding the scene with the mouse to view the back.
Mailbox Services content - Taking a cue from each service group's game, we designed corresponding product descriptions on the back of the landing page. The goal was to make the experience of learning about the services fun and engaging.
Pack & Ship Services content - Flipping the Pack & Ship Services landing page to the back showed the services copy on stacked boxes.
The Coliseum door - After collecting all four game tokens, the user reaches The Coliseum. Voice over does double-duty, congratulating the user and Joe Biz for reaching their destination. Arrival here finalizes registration into the sweepstakes.
The UPS Store Is More Sweepstakes - We ran a 45 day long sweepstakes and offered daily prizes ranging from gift cards to $200 office chairs. The Grand Prize was a trip to Hawaii. Registering supplied opt in information for the client.
Instant Winner Notification page - We offered the consumer an informative online experience with 45 days of prizes that pushed daily return visits. For the client, this meant a half million page views in the first 30 days, 7,000 opt-ins and increases in core elements of the business that ranged between 25 and 45 percent.
