S*MPLE PHONE - The simplest phone possible. A quick 45 minute photoshop sketch.
Ricoh iBall - A simple digital camera embeded in a Nerf like ball. This concept for Ricoh featured a rip cord timer. Pull the cors and throw the iBall and see what you get... winner of the first anual Shonan Design Award from Japan.
Chantal Wave and Swan - This duo was designed to help Chantal hit an intermediate pricepoint and sell in new kitchen retailers while still retaining the classic elements of Chantal's current kettle which had been in production for over 20 years. The design is still in production in a number of finishes and colors and can be found in better kitchen botiques.
Timex Asym - One of my first production products out of school, this brief was to design a unique style the blended sport and professional style and integrated Timex's new turn and pull technology which uses a unique system of spinning rings to set the time and alarm quickly and easily. The design was featured in Playboy Magazine (so I'm told) as one of the best gifts to get your man for Christmas...
Timex Grip clip - Designed at EVO Design to be a reinterpretation of the pocket watch, the brief was simple: take a carabiner and an existing digital module, mix them together and see what happens. The result was the first IDSA/Businessweek IDEA award that Timex and Evo had ever won. Featured in numerous publications, it is still in production today.
Kodak concept renderings - These excerpts from various projects for Kodak's one time use, and Digital divisions show the level of my typical concept sketches.
Burton Anon Cypher - This goggle features a hinged stap element that conforms to the rider's helmet ensuring good face fit and reducing fogging. It was inspired by a conversation with Burton's team in which the riders said their favorite car was the Audi A4 because they liked simple things that performed well and let them be the star... not their stuff.
Paypall eWallet - This concept was designed for a feature in Mobile PC magazine which featured devices of the future. A fully digital wallet that retained all your acount information, passport, driver's ID, and personal photos, it is activated with thumbprint recognition technology. It also ballences your accounts automatically and bills can be paid from it wirelessly. If lost (or stolen) the whole thing can be deactivated, a new one purchased, and resynced at home without ever going to the DMV.

nu*book. Core 77 1HDC entry - Carrying around a book isn't that big a deal. We don't travel with a library. The hassle is always remembering to get a new book for the trip.... nu*book does that. Users can subscribe to monthly collections for an anual fee. For example, sign on for the Oprah book club, or New York Times best seller list, or Phillip K Dick award winners; and all new books on the list automatically download to the nu*book, always giving you that nu*book on the go.

Home Driver Drill - Concept for Core77 1HDC. A simple, rechargeable driver drill has to be the most common home power tool, and you are usually looking for it in a jam when you come home from Ikea at 10pm and want to start putting stuff together. I wanted to move away from the wannabe contractor aesthetic and more into a home appropriate look. Also thinking of people with small apartments (ie no garage), I sketched up a simple wall mount charging station with a bit center to hang in a closet or pantry.

Female Razor Concept Sketch - The idea was to make something very simple and tactile that was very easy to clean especially in shower use. All of those nooks and crannies in most current razors get so gunked up with soap. but you don't want the razor to slip in that application. So this has a large soft durometer urethane insert for a good grip that is very flexible in terms of the users style of holding. It doesn't have a right or wrong way to hold it.
