Mostly just having fun here.
Award winning Nokia 282 Mobile Phone - The folding phone was Nokia’s first. I wanted a phone that looked like none other. I felt that most phones at that time lacked surface sophistication. They were boxes with graphics applied in the form of buttons and displays. The engineering team was located in England. The UI group was in Copenhagen and tooling was in Texas. Proximity made for some interesting challenges; and some great benefits. Time zones allowed for nearly 24-7 progress on the product
LEGO In-Motion Theme Vehicle - The concept of this vehicle was to integrate LEGO’s family principles and design look with JCI’s technology and expertise. The vehicle included a great deal of new products and concepts that included family-friendly telematics and a host of personal products for road entertainment.
This vehicle was the Centerpiece of JCI's display at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show
TOYZ!! - This was a fun departure from the day to day grind. I was asked to develop some “ride on” toys that would appeal to older boys. As you can see, riding position, style and turning mechanism were areas I focused upon. Concepts included Velcro drive system, blow molded coaster brake and moldered in GRRRRRRR noise maker.
Award Winning ECO-Door - Our goal was to show how instituting proper design practices and strategies can result in a financially viable product that:
Minimizes ecological impact throughout its useful life, as well as it’s post life.
Is cost-effective to manufacture and recycle.
Meets or exceeds customer expectations for quality, appearance and function.
Is manufactured and recycled using current technologies and infrastructures.
