House of the Fisherman - RIBA Part 1 - 2010 Project

House of the Fisherman (photos by lewisrichardsphotography.co.uk) - Based on the Japanese concept of an 'Engawa', the 'House of the Fisherman' is a memorial for Hull's lost trawlermen. The design is based on the derelict lands of St Andrews Dock, Hull. The large moveable panels of the building are to represent the old fishing fleet leaving the docklands of Hull. At mid-day the sun projects a ray of light through the small 1m gate opening which welcomes visitors to this memorial.
