adizero Rose 1.5 - Early Rose 1.5 concepts; this was when it was called something completely different.

I really liked this concept b/c it was a functional answer to Derrick Rose's needs. He wears an ankle brace so I proposed a shoe that combined the shoe w/ the brace.

I still think it's a cool idea, but it has a lot of challenges to work once you understand how a brace works.

adizero Rose 1.5 - Early Rose 1.5 concepts; this was when it was called something completely different.

The toe was inspired by dress shoes b/c the direction was to have a mix of "lux" with some sort of upper tech. I liked the abrupt collar line cut. It was unapologetic.

The brighter purple is a strip of soft suede to show off a raw edge.

Another exploration from the B concept.

adizero Rose 1.5 - Inspiration for the "Lux" version; the tech was going to be housed on the inside like our F50 soccer boot on the bottom left.

Adizero Rose 1.5 - This is when it was called Adizero Lux. This concept was meant to be simple and real--real leather, suede, & patent leather. The idea was that it could come w/ leather oil to break down the flex zone leather like a baseball mitt.

The color is inspired by a GTR3, but it also referenced ashes. From the ashes of Chicago's infamous fire some of the greatest architecture rose. Derrick withstood his own neighborhood to make it to the NBA. Didn't go fwd; too sophisticated.

adizero Rose 1.5 - Quick color study; I wanted to use the stitch detail from Testoni on the vamp and collar.

adizero Rose 1.5 - This is a photoshop on top of a sample we didn't like; It's pretty crazy how far you go from the start of a concept to production. This is an easy tool to get a new look based off something real.

adizero Rose 1.5 - Exploring frame b/c Footlocker didn't like it as one panel; All I knew was that I wanted to keep the tip b/c it was polarizing. More than once it was suggested to get rid of it. Out of everything on the shoe, that's the one part I'm glad I kept.

adizero Rose 1.5 - The Sprintskin panels on the side can't be white so the entire side panel went grey. I kind of liked it b/c it made it look different than the normal white home colorway. It also is good for my friend who likes Ohio State.

Rose in 1.5's - Derrick makes the grey versions look mean. I wanted to switch up doing a normal white/red/black shoe for this version so it'd have a different flavor than the Rose 1 which was mostly white and black. At first some were a little worried about a grey shoe instead of a white one, but I think it worked out nicely. The grey body + white toe gave it a nice twist.

Derrick Rose - Not my photo (duh); I don't know why he chose to wear this colorway. I am glad he did though. It stood out.

adizero Rose 1.5 All-Star - Photo by US10. I generally dislike shoes adorn with all kinds of NBA or weirdo logos, but sometimes we want them for other markets. I do like this patent toe though. Materials left a lot to be desired on the Rose 1.5.

Rose in 1.5's - I liked this version a lot. The only thing I regret is not putting bright green laces in them. They aren't green to match the uniform; they were green because the way Rose ended up in Chicago was either fate or luck to win the Draft Lottery in 2008.

MVP - Rose wins the MVP in his Rose 1's and Rose 1.5's. Wow...
