Original Craftsman Home - This beautiful home, built in the 1940s needed a bit of updating, the addition of a ramp for ease in entering/exiting, and opening up of some areas for ease in use.
Hand Drafted Floor Plan--1st floor - By walling off one of the entry doors, the two disjointed living areas became one great room with two smaller seating areas. The space could be opened up for large family gatherings or kept intimate for smaller gatherings.
Hand Drafted Floor Plan--2nd floor - The upper level became a space for housing family members who stayed overnight.
Final Space Plan w/ FFE--1st floor - The open floor plan provides access to all of the main floor and to outside with a ramp off the kitchen entry leading to the garage at the back of the property.
Final Space Plan w/ FFE--2nd floor - The second floor provides for the extended family sleeping and relaxing, allowing for privacy for each family unit.

Craftsman Home Renovation

The purpose of the renovation of this home is to create for the couple a space in which to grow old. While their days are filled with their own hobbies and philanthropic activities, they also need a space for family gatherings. Their home must be accessible in all aspects - doors, entry, height considerations, and knobs and handles. I chose a warm, inviting color scheme of reds, greens, and golds with the occasional pop of orange and plum.
