Dominic Blas is a Graphic Designer/Artist from San Diego, California. While attending Platt College in San Diego, Dominic began his graphic design career a the Center for Social Support & Education, a non-profit organization. He then moved on to a Production Artist position at TransWestern Publishing, at that time a well known yellow page publisher. Currently, Dominic is a graphic production artist at MARCOA Publishing, Inc.

To obtain a respected and demanding position, where my valuable education and proven capabilities can be put to use for my own good as well as those around me. Also, I would like to have a position that encourages my growth and learning as a graphic designer and artist. Learning and growing has made me who I am today, and I don’t want to stop doing those things.

GRAPHICS PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE
I was responsible for the creation of yellow pages advertising. Although creativity was not really encouraged, I constantly explored ways to keep the work challenging and express my creativity on a smaller, less noticeable scale.
3/05-6/10 • MARCOA Publishing, Inc. • San Diego, CA
My main responsibilities include creating maps based upon supplied materials and online resources. I was also called upon several times for my illustration abilities, and several of my illustrations have been published. I was also asked to create cover comps for military and residential guides. Some editorial design which includes layout and page design was entrusted to me, as well.

At WildSide, my main function is a Production Artist. My main fuction includes separating new art for screen printing using simulated process techniques. Other production based tasks include preparing custom artwork for print. Creative projects
include creating new “eCards” for promotion of new products and promotions offered by WildSide. I’m usually the one that’s called on to create the covers and overall design of many of our promotional supplements and catalogs throughout the year. Within the past year, I have also created over 65 children and adult designs that have been approved for production.
