Coffee Table - This coffee was based on the idea of a bundle of sticks or scrap wood that is picked up and then cut through the middle to create a flat surface. The other surface remains broken and random and serves as the legs which hold up the surface. As an added element of interaction ceramic pots were created to house a living element to the table. The pots can be re-arranged to the user delight adding an element of playfulness and interactivity. In doing this the table becomes involved with the user rather than being a stale piece of furniture. Credit goes to Alex Newton of Worthy Design for the idea of the potted plants.
