My inspiration for this project has been the military theme seen in runway shows, blogs and trend websites with the luxury of brocades, embroideries and other embellishments. The idea is to think of a floral army that could be wearing a floral camouflage to hide into a garden. The color palette is very tonal and military inspired, with pops of pink and red with the traditional military green. The materials used help me reinforce this trend. I use a chunky knit creating a camouflage effect with the floral and military colors, distressed leather inspired by traditional army boots, cotton canvas referencing army uniforms and felt for the cool days. The materials, colors and finishes used help me redesign and embellish the iconic Converse shoes to fit my floral army.
