The product’s shape takes inspiration in professional sound consoles, taking its horizontality and details, like the use of wood, to make associations with the quality inherent to those devices. The wood details also provide a way to signal a connection between the speakers and the main console. The horizontal shape also provides an excelent base for the distribution of buttons and other input devices, using different levels, material, sizes and textures for hierarchy.

Sound System

The project was centered in the development of a sound system with a previosuly defined set of functions.
There were two main lines of development. On one side there was lot of work on detecting and defining the user group, and to use that information to develop the semiotics of the product. That analysis lead to a semi-professional and sophisticated aesthetic looking to attract people who think of themselves as knowledgeables about music.
On the other hand there was a big focus on the topological distribution of functions.
Thinking carefully about hierarchization and element grouping acording to function / use, affinty, visibility and ease of lecture.
