Brief: Design a clock for use within New College Nottingham reception area. Must be engaging and appeal to both students and staff. The product must also be desirable for the commercial market. Overview: In-depth research in to staff,students,environment and materials was carried out. I established the solution was to provide a funky,colourful, large scale design statement which drew inspiration from the locations Victorian architecture. By examining current furniture trends and colour schemes, i developed the clock to appeal to the masses as a low profile grandfather clock with removable interior background. This allows the user to customise and update the product. Consideration towards environmental impact has been taken through the entire design process to ensure the product is as sustainable as possible in every aspect.
