For the nhow Amsterdam Rai hotel rooms I have created 6 models of mural for printing on fabric and subsequent mounting as bed headboards and 6 models of wallpapers for the wall coverings and carpets in the rooms. The creative concept of the mixture of world cultures, which serves as a common thread for the hotel’s imaginary, is catalysed in these proposals through compositions in a marked Pop Art style.
Each mural model shows a character representative of one of the world’s cultures. Each character is associated with a pattern that accompanies him or her across the walls and carpet of the room and “invades” parts of the collage itself, establishing a dialogue between character and form that builds a modern cultural representation.

My Pop revision of the ancestral culture of India is materialised in a composition characterised by a dominant kaleidoscopic pattern that mimics the protagonist figure, giving it an aura of magic and exoticism.
