Twitter marketing - Connecting the output of a referral management system to Twitter via the Twitter API, the ExpertPages Twitter page became an instant success (see stats). It quickly bypassed competitors and became the leader in followers for the online expert community on Twitter.

The feed, consisting of bona-fide assignment inquiries, leads to a customized landing page encouraging experts to submit their resume.

A consumer directory - Product manager and co-designer.

Redesigning the AttorneyPages.com home page, attorney search and listing format was a major product milestone. Data-driven design supported Web 2.0 best practices, and traffic and ranking metrics showed a dramatic improvement.

This home page version introduced a lean, optimized topic list, and a Zip-based search with zero "no match" results. Also, launching the display of members' photos in search results was achieved with minimal use of silhouette icons.

Music download website - 7 Years before SpiralFrog, PlayJ was offering 60,000 tracks for free and legal download using an ad-supported media player application & Winamp plug-in.

The perception of our target audience at the time was that free music is illegal. As product manager I worked with an in-house and external designers to achieve an "underground" look. It fares well in retrospect. Application UI, directory architecture, privacy and DMCA issues were all within my domain.

Blog aggregator - Co-designed product for a HuffingtonPost-like blog aggregation platform. The platform offered strong, granulated editorial control over authors, and interfaced with existing blog feeds and a commercial news feed from AP. Designed 2006, operational untill 2009.

B2B directory - As product manager of an expert directory led a major redesign/upgrade, which included profile pages, member dashboard, CMS, a YellowPages-like listing structure, an inquiry/ lead management and reporting system, with an added layer of legal considerations. Existing, paying subscribers were migrated from legacy environment.

The website enjoys superior search engine ranking and is considered to be a leader in the field. Listings start at $345/year.
