Black Dot Range

The Black Dot Range is designed to aid visually impaired users when preparing a hot beverage. Through using the range the aim is to increase their independence within the home through enhancing the daily routine.

Many people in the UK are visually impaired and have an issue when making a hot drink. There are around 360,000 people who are registered as visually impaired in England. As many as 2 million people in the UK may be living with some degree of visual impairment.

The aids allow users to make hot beverages with increased confidence, through the use of contrast with black and white the Black Dot Range subtly helps users. The range begins to bridge the gap between assistive products and mainstream through simple, subtle inclusive design. Blurring the boundaries between the two markets to help remove the stigma associated with drinking aids.
