His contributions to the design profession extend to the innovation of the IDSA/BusinessWeek Catalyst award, which recognizes the impact of design on business success; being named Chairperson for the 2004 Industrial Design Excellence Award program; and serving as an advisory board member for the Center for Business and Design, a philanthropic organization whose goal is to promote a better future through an alliance between business and design. And, as a founding trustee of the Pasadena Museum of California Art, he served as head juror of the museum’s inaugural California Design Biennial exhibition. Ravi has been involved in the incubation of several other businesses and is a licensor of numerous products and design innovations as well as having been named on over 125 patents, U.S. and worldwide.
