The freelancer needs to leave a lasting impression with every possible job opportunity presented to him/her. And, like our 4-legged friends of a dog-eat-dog industry, we want to be sure to properly mark our territory, depreciating and demeaning the competition along the way.
Though business cards--as a stand-alone promotional device--are nice and cute, the "porta-portfolio" (as I like to call it) is much nicer and far more effective at improving your chances of earning prospects' business!
