Structure - In “Modern Times†Charlie Chaplin illustrates a society that is a continuing incline and a decline. Everybody strives to achieve his or her goal in order to survive. However, once they feel achievement, challenges occur and they feel low in their self-esteem once again. Inspiration came from Escher’s “Ascending and Descending Staircase.†By using the image of the ascending and descending staircase as a prototype that represents an individual, I tried to create a society in 8 different forms.
