I’m an accomplished industrial designer based in New York City. Currently freelancing for a number of corporations, startups and design firms. My work includes designs for national brands, including LG, Panasonic, SC Johnson, Kimberly Clark, Yum Brands, Starbucks, Kraft Foods, and McDonald’s. Previously I worked as an in-house designer on thermoformed and injection-molded packaging for the food industry. ECCO Design, Industrial Design Lead (current) Benebone, Freelance Designer, April 2012 – Present - Used brainstorms, 3 rounds of concept designs, and SolidWorks modeling to develop a dog toy product based on the founders’ vision. - Aided in developing concepts for packaging, marketing, and web design. - Created variations of the existing company logo for web and print use. Quirky Inc., Contract Industrial Designer, Aug 2012 – Oct 2012 - Responsible for the concept design, detailing, and prototyping of socially developed consumer products, from idea to fully realized concept ready for public launch on the company’s website. - Worked as the primary designer on Stow, an innovative, flat-fold and cable-less iPhone charger, as well as other projects, collaborating with other designers and engineers. Pactiv Corporation, Industrial Designer, May 2009 - April 2012 - Designed innovative products in the quick-serve restaurant sector, including hot cup lids for Starbucks, hinged bowls for Pizza Hut’s Wingstreet brand, and Fountain Cups for McDonald’s. - Received the “Step Change for Breakthrough” award from Pizza Hut for redefining their Wingstreet brand through product design. -Responsible for the final 3D Pro/Engineer geometry used for the production of thermoformed and injection-molded packaging products. -Built and maintained client relationships with leaders at Fortune 500 companies including Yum Brands, Starbucks, and Kraft Foods. Project H Design Chicago (501c3 nonprofit), Nov 2008 – Dec 2011 -Worked with other Chicago-based nonprofits to design systems to benefit the homeless youth community. -Led brainstorming sessions and research initiatives to develop a short list of concepts to help Chicago’s homeless youth more easily obtain vital services. TT Technologies Inc., Design Engineer, Jan 2008 – May 2009 -Aided in the design and construction of trenchless digging equipment, collaborating with full production staff to insure a high-quality product. -Developed detailed SolidWorks models and drawings used for production on projects, including the 4X Drill and the Grundowinch ZoomBoom.
