UbiCiT electric monorail

UbiCiT is a cooperative work between the University of Montreal School of Industrial Design, the mechanic and electric Engineering departments of the Polytechnique of Montreal, and the HEC Montreal (High economic studies). The goal was to create and innovative public transport solution for Quebec. After 8 months of extensive research, analysis, concepts and cooperation between each student's field of studies, the result is UbiCiT: an electric suspended monorail network that fits the growing needs of Montreal's transit system. The interior as well as the exterior had to be completely designed. The project was presented at the SIDIM 2012 (Montreal Internation Design Fair) for its ecofriendly development qualities. The project also won two awards at the University of Montreal Design School graduating students exhibit: 1st place ADIQ 2012 (Industrial Designers Association of Quebec) 1st place CQRDA 2012 (Aluminium Research and Development Center of Quebec)
