Whirlpool Mexico Design Award 2008

The competition asked students to design a household appliance that would address the water shortage that is already affecting modern lifestyles. Our project consisted of a simple appliance that would wash fruits, seeds, and vegetables with a very small amount of water. Kunn (which means "water" in Olmec dialect) utilizes pressurized ozone bubbles to wash its contents.

Kunn - Kunn ("water" in olmec dialect) is a kitchen appliance that washes fruits, seeds, and vegetables with compressed air bubbles and a very low use of water.

Kunn - The user fills the basket with what he/she wishes to wash and fills the receptacle with water. Then, the user turns on the appliance and selects the washing mode (depending if they're seeds, fruits, vegetables, etc). Kunn washes with air bubbles while the user can do something else around the kitchen. When Kunn finishes, the user takes the basket out with clean, fresh food ready for preparation. The water filters down into a receptacle waiting to be used again.
