Not afraid to borrow my mother's dress-form to take pictures of my new wizard robes. I may have my own sewing and embroidary machine, but not a dress form.
Sand and glass bottle heated to 400F. PVC pipe softened and split.
PVC Pipe filled with 400F sand becomes felxible. Hot sand allows pipe to be bent without collapsing or pinching. Pipe is allowed to cool in contorted shape to resmble a wooden branch.
Random holes drilled in top of staff. Holes are connected to create organic/random latice shapes.
Latice is opened and smoothed for pleasing shape.
Bolt embedded to attach resin jewel.

Wizard and Staff

Robe pattern was modified from a store bought trench-coat pattern. Sleeves and lapels were enlarged to achieve the desired look. Machine stitched.
Wizard Hat was patterned from scratch, using multiple iterations of paper templates before final fabric was cut and stitched.
Wizard Staff is made from PVC pipe, heated and deformed. Top was heated, splayed open and molded, then carved into an open 'organic lattice.' The jewel in the top of the staff is cast resin, attached so as to appear floating.
