Gina Perry

In conjunction with a literary agent I develop and submit book proposals to trade publishers in the children's book industry as both author and illustrator. I also work as an illustrator with many different publishers on a range of children's book projects such as magazines, picture book, chapter book, early reader, and middle grade. I enjoy working with game and stationery companies on products, logos, branding illustration, etc. Another part of my business involves teaching workshops, visiting schools and libraries, and promoting my books at bookstores and events.

Developing and managing a team of outside art resources, including licensed artists for a rapidly growing company.
-Proposing and negotiating contracts for licensing deals.
-Managing a large team of internal artists and designers along with design manager.
-Brainstorming primarily scrapbooking product lines including theme, style, and color direction. Other areas of development included home decor, craft, and stationery.
-Developing product lines myself or with other artists from concept through final manufacturing stages.
-Working with product development to assure product specifications and costing are within range.
-Successfully developing product lines for both the independent scrapbooking customers as well as mass-market.
-Attending trade shows to maintain current trend knowledge.
-Meeting sales requests for new product designs, often in a very short timeframe.
-Developing internal processes and procedures to create better work flow and file maintenance.
