Transformer Costume

This Transformer costume is another in my extravagant Halloween costumes. This one is perhaps my most celebrated works as I entered it in a costume contest and won $5000.

I made this costume based on photos from the 2007 Transformers movie. I explored multiple forms of building when I began to build this, including computer models for scale and shape, integration of electrical components, and the difficulties of different materials. I included 7 mounted lights and a speaker system mounted into the wheels (to reflect the movie, where the character communicates through the radio) that could be controlled through my left hand and play music from my ipod (including sound bytes from the movie).

Some of the materials included in this build are: foam core, EVA playfoam, vinyl stickers, styrofoam, clear plastic sheets, every type of glue you can think of and, of course, duct tape.
