-----------------------PROFESSIONAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE------------------
Currently working for a Italian lighting company called Reggiani in London, designing layout plans and working on lighting calculations for various interior lighting schemes, predominantly retail. Having to learn about a aspect of design I previously had little knowledge of is a slight tangent from my degree in Product/Furniture design. This area of design relates to how a space is perceived and is a fundamental consideration in relation to user interaction.
------------------------------SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES---------------------------
Photoshop
Illustrator
Alias studio tools
Auto-Cad
Hand sketches/renders
Model making/prototyping
I also have a basic grasp of Solidworks and Alias image studio.
-------------------------INTERESTS AND ASPERATIONS-------------------------
Outside of my interests in art and design related topics, I enjoy reading travel literature and in recent years have visited a number of European cities. I also try to keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle and would like to run in the London marathon in the near future.I’m also hoping to start a scuba diving course initially working towards a PADI Open water referral.
-------------------------PERSONAL DESIGN PHILOSOPHY----------------------
For me design is about asking questions of ourselves and those around us, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable and really understanding the needs or requirements of a product. Good design asks questions of it’s user and environment whilst also performing a task or function effectively. What ever the product, the design process involves a creative approach that is well reasoned and thought out at every stage.
