Freebie Sample Vending Machine

Challenge:
Needed a fresh and exciting way to distribute trial products.

Current and existing means of sampling products are expensive, expected, and non-social.

Solution:
Shopper must check-in through Facebook while in front of the machine in store. Once checked-in, Facebook sends a message to the machine which distributes a free sample.

The Freebie name helped to communicate to the shopper the intent of the machine (provide something free).

The design of the photography as well as the Facebook logo helped to communicate the social aspect of the machine.

The clear call-to-action on the front of the machine intrigued shoppers to try it as it communicated the brand being sampled.

The Freebie Machine won a Design of the Times Gold award
