Senior Copywriter at Saatchi&Saatchi Sydney, Head of AWARD School Sydney and AWARD Committee member. Every now and then I revert back to doing what I used to do - writing and recording songs, short film composition and scriptwriting. Sounds super wanky, I know.

Work History

I began my career in advertising after careers in banking, travel and tourism, video and music store management, theatre arts and rock-and-roll world domination fell flat. Initially I started writing as a freelance music reviewer before attending AWARD School. I then went on complete what is probably a world record for unpaid agency internship (14-months) to land a job as a Copywriter at a completely different agency. After five years in Western Australia and garnering a string of local awards (all the while moonlighting as a university tutor in Creative Advertising), I made the leap to New Zealand to work at DDB Auckland. While there I worked on a string of prestigious accounts including Volkswagen, Cadbury, SKY TV, Stella Artois, McDonald's and Lotteries New Zealand, while picking up at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, AdFest, London International, AWARD, The Caxtons and Axis. I served on the Outdoor jury at the 2010 AdFest in Tokyo, Japan. I was also part of the team that picked up the Grande 360 Lotus for Cadbury's '4th Best' campaign at the same awards show. In January 2011 I left the good ship DDB and boarded a more space age craft in R/GA. As Lead Writer I was fortunate enough to collaborate with the New York, San Francisco and London offices, working on a range of global accounts (Nike, Mastercard, Goldman Sachs, Unilever) and was instrumental in helping to win the WaterAid International and Rip Curl global pitches. Come 2012 and after 5yrs away from Australia, it was time to get some home lovin'. I headed across to Sydney as Ass.Creative Director at McCann, which evolved into becoming a Creative Director. While here I helped steer the agency through some difficult times on a few clients, while also winning New Zealand's Fair Go awards two years running (a public voted competition for best TV ad of the year). Just over a year in the position, I was then given the opportunity to work with Damon Satapleton at Saatchi&Saatchi. I couldn't really refuse. Since April 2013 I have worked on nearly every Saatchis account, including Toyota, St.George Bank and The National Art School, as well as being involved in numerous successful pitches. I've got a much better view, too. I'm also sitting on the AWARD Committee and co-heading AWARD School.
