For the past four years I have been working in Shanghai, China as a Lead Product designer amongst a 7-person international team (including 3 full time designers and 3 intern designers). I have expertise in working efficiently with factories throughout China and ensuring that product development is executed smoothly and correctly. My current role also includes planning /managing the project workload and delegating tasks to the team, as well as designing in 3d and creating technical drawings. Additionally, other the day-to- day activities include developing ideas through team brainstorm sessions, exploring concepts, and propelling ideas into production ready designs. Through the years of my professional experience, I have gained immense knowledge on the process in which a product is developed. I am confident in handling and managing a design project from client briefing to full development, whether it be individually or with a team. My knowledge extends to being able to properly budget, schedule, and allocate the right resources to the company’s ongoing projects. Furthermore, in terms of team management, I am able to find the best way to utilize each individual’s talent to effectively contribute to each project. Having lived in China for more than 4 years, I not only have an understanding of Chinese customs and culture but also the way in which business is conducted and how the factory operations work.
