Project Brief: The project brief was obtained through discussions with the client. The client being a rugby coach from Coventry University, the need for a single unit to carry several sports goods with wide range of sizes was perceived. Salient features like light weightiness and stack ability had to be achieved to carry the unit in vehicles. Team: The team was titled as the red team that had six members in it, with every person having a role and responsibilities. Tools used: Photoshop CS5 for concept sketching and presentation, Solidworks for 3d modeling and Photoview 360 as a render engine. Role: Being Design Director of the team, the responsibility was to channelize every member including CAD modeler to creative head to achieve the objective of the project. The conceptualization had to be directed towards fulfilling the conditions put forth by the client. The team had to be led in to specific direction, so as to fulfill the aim of the project. Hurdles: Ideation from every team member was given due consideration and streamlined towards final goal. Every team member had opinions on the project which had to be analyzed convincingly so as to respect views of the team member and also to keep a steady pace of progress of the project. Outcome: The work of Red team was declared Best Design out of five teams. Thesis Design Proposal for Automated Freight Transport Research question: Can automation of freight movers help achieve environment friendly and speedy transportation, without interference in man driven traffic? Objectives:  Investigating existing intelligent vehicle technologies.  Exploring social aspect of truck driving.  Exploring the latest and upcoming fuel technologies.  Design proposal for an automated freight vehicle. Project Brief: Extensive research was done to arrive at the brief in order to avail intelligent vehicle technology and fuel technologies to achieve a green and eco friendly freight mover. Methodology: The methods adopted to achieve the brief were primarily through literature review, desk based research including valuable inputs from experts through various communications. Tools used: Solidworks, Photoview 360, Adobe Photoshop CS5 Team: The project work was carried out independently under the guidance of course tutor Mr. Peter Atkinson. • Rajendra Mane college of engineering (Mumbai University) Accelero Braking systems Objective: The motto of the project was about clubbing the functions of braking and acceleration in to a single mechanism for two and four wheeled vehicles, so as to achieve stability while braking while re-accelerating a vehicle when on slope. Team: The team consisted of five members from the automobile branch. Each member contributed equally to the task of documentation in the process of final presentation of project. Outcome: Full scale working model of the mechanism was created and presented to the judges for evaluation. Miscellaneous Projectsrojects • L.E.V (Lightweight electric vehicle) The project was conceived from a competition held by Dassault Systems, wherein the theme was to create a vehicle for the city of Prague also known as the Mother of Cities. The motto was to create a concept vehicle to transport people in the city of Prague, which will be based on design sense from the cultural and social aspects of the city of Prague. Team: The Project was handled independently. Tools used: Alias automotive for surface creation, Solidworks for Assembly creation, Bunkspeed pro as the rendering software and Adobe Photoshop CS5 Outcome: The design was chosen amongst the top few submissions. (http://vimeo.com/49110591) • Logo Design The Logo was created for a company engineered to deal with EPC sector. Simple yet meaningful was the outline of the logo description provided by the client. Team: The Project was undertaken independently. Tools used: Adobe Photoshop CS5 Outcome: The logo has been implemented by the company on the letterhead and soon will be implemented on the website as well. • Audi TT (Project at Majenta Academy) The motto of the project was to learn the rules of advanced class a surfacing and rendering in Autodesk showcase.
