Description

This lamp was based on the feeling of aggression derived from the song Mars by Holst. The song is an aggressive, classical piece with the feeling of going into war. The lamp expresses this war-like attitude with the shade ending in sharp points. The central, black, monolithic shade lets out an ominous yellow color glow from the sides, with an unexpected shot of red – both colors associated with caution and danger. The gold leafed piece shines light toward the viewer, and also mimics and accentuates the angles of the black shade. The slight tilt towards the viewer also portrays the feeling of advancement and aggression.
