Ian Ortega

About

Ian Ortega is a designer from the BA industrial design undegraduate program at ITESM in Mexico City. Both during his studies and after his graduation he has received several awards, such as the best urban furniture project at ITESM, or being a finalist in the Braun Prize Mexico with the project “Mol,” which was also part of the photography exposition Braun Prize 2007. The show opened in Kronberg, Germany and traveled through several cities in Europe, China and Mexico.

His work has been exhibited at places like the Franz Mayer or the MUNAL, both Museums in Mexico City, Galería Mexicana de Diseño and Design Week Mexico City 2009 , and published in international magazines such as Ish Magazine of Singapore and Yanko Design in Japan.

He has collaborated in interior design projects such as Magnolia Bar at Torre Mayor and Sicario store at the colonia Roma (2007) both in Mexico City and Hotel Boutique de Cortes also in Mexico City at down town.

He currently works as senior designer at the product development area for the green manufacturing comitted brand Pirwi. (www.pirwi.com)
