Our objective is to create a holistic, sustainable program and schematic design for a mixed-use activities hotel that expresses the nature of Denver, Colorado. We propose to create a space that connects the core values of Denver, Colorado, while maintaining an ecologically responsible environment.

The primary goal is to connect both private and public zones within the interior environment (core), encouraging interaction between guests within this healing (regenerative) environment. Thus, we concluded the name of our project to be “Regenerative Core”.

The skin concept of our project is derived from the skin of the "snake plant", the most commong plant in Denver. Under the microscopic eyes, the snake plant's skin has a series of cell-like pattern. We took this idea and incorporated into the skin of our project to strategically create openings to allow natural daylighting.

Site Analysis:
Site two is located north of 16th Street, south of 20th Street, East of Chestnut Street and Commons Park, and West of Wewatta Street and Union Station. The environment around the site is very busy and loud, due to the pedestrian traffic, vehicular traffic, and train traffic. The buildings surrounding the site include:

This study model was put together by stacking all of the analysis diagrams on top of one another to create a hollow core. The shape of the hollow core gave way to the shape of the hotel.
