S-Line Table - The S-Line Table Concept - The table represents a challenge to what is a table. Usually a table is defined as a table surface with legs at its corners. You could argue that my design has legs but depending on the user those legs can be moved around to create a different table.
Potential Energy Table - The Potential Energy Table Concept - The table represents potential energy. Usually a table is stagnet. This table also does not move; however, due to its construction using tension cables pulling and holding its shape together, it creates a great amount of potential energy in the piece. This potential energy allows the user to envision the possibility of movement.
Assembly Required - Concept - The Assembly Required table is suppose to take something that is normally seen as a chore and turn it into a fun activity that leaves the user with a feeling of accomplishment. The idea is inspired by jigsaw puzzles and paint by numbers. I want the piece to encourage people to look into DIY projects. I want it to help them discover the joy of making their own furniture.
Wave Table - Concept - The table does two things. First, it represents a challenge to what is a table. Usually a table is defined as a table surface with legs at its corners. This table only has two legs. Second, due to its curves creates a sense of movement and fluidity.
Client Couch - The Client Couch was designed for an office where someone upon arrival would need to fill out paperwork. Instead of relying on a clipboard I incorporated table surfaces into the arms of the couch. This allows someone to sit comfortably and fill out their paperwork. The Client Couch accommodates two people with ample space.
Floating Table - I created a table that expresses its form, function, and simplicity. Due to the use of clear acrylic for the structure it gives the illusion of a floating table top. Because it is transparent the base is and isn't there. I also tapered the edge of the top which forces your eyes to follow the edge giving it a sense of motion. In addition, the base's curvature adds to the flow of the table and the sense of movement.
