Steam House Branding Package

For this project I was asked to create a logo and branding for a company of our choosing or we could create our own company. I chose to create a steampunk themed tea shop.

For the logo I wanted to incorporate motifs that represent the steampunk genre. This means that the shop would have a Victorian era feel and there would be cogs and gears. The color palette also represents the steampunk genre. The name of the shop would be The Steam House which is based on a short story written by Jules Verne, who is considered one of foundling fathers of steampunk.

I created a tea sampler box to represent how the shop could use the logo and color palette. I used a wood burning tool and burned the logo on the lid. The word tea is emphasized by using a golden/metallic paint which represents the bronze, copper and metallic feel of the steampunk genre.

For the Menu I wanted to keep the distressed feel of the genre while making sure that the type was easily readable and well organized. I incorporated cogs and gears in the background and as corner pieces.

Here is one of the sampler tea boxes and tea bags. I was influenced by Victorian era advertisements and posters.
