The aim of this project was to design and make a shoe with the wow factor. Looking at innovative designers to inspire and create a novel shoe with no commercial considerations, using unusual materials, bold shapes and clever constructions. After researching designers and artists such as Zoe Bradley, Heike Weber, and Richard Coleman I chose the theme Pleats and Prisms. A fusion of geometric shapes, heavily pleated and folded fabrics with a touch of kaleidoscopic brights. Through the use of monochrome colors and angular shapes and textures, I created a range of dramatic, futuristic designs and a functional prototype.
