Aura MP3 Player - I was invited by NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program to consult on this next generation portable networked mp3 player. We explored form factors and narrowed down dimensions and interface options with rough foamcore models. Styling evolved through sketching and renderings and took shape in a rapid prototype. The final design incorporates Mitsubishi's new reversible LCD technology with an edge-lit clear shell that glows in response to the type of music. This device was honored with a Best Product Design award at the Microsoft Research Design Expo 2004.
