WORK EXPERIENCE: Parsons The New School for Design New York, NY Part-time Faculty for BFA Fashion Design program 8/12-present • Revising unique syllabus for a Millinery course lasting 15 weeks. Developing resources. • Working with 3rd and 4th year students in conceptualizing, designing and fabricating headwear to enhance their clothing collections, using traditional millinery techniques. Williams Sonoma: Pottery Barn Teen San Francisco, CA Patternmaker and Samplemaker, Contract 3/11-6/11 • Assisted team in design, pattern drafting, and prototype sample-making of hair accessories, handbags and home accessories for line review meetings and production. Goorin Brothers San Francisco, CA Hat Designer, Contract 7/06-6/08 • Designed women’s hat collection: cut & sewn, blocked, and knit hats, gloves, scarves and bags, collaborating directly with the President and team. • Market research, Trend forecasting and mood board development. Led line review meetings with sales staff and marketing. • Hand-drafted factory ready patterns, handmade first prototypes, sourced new and innovative materials, corrected fit and approved sales samples. • Proactively initiated correction of pattern for a best-selling style, resulting in fewer returns and higher sales.
