Work History

::Professional Bio Jason is a designer at Insight Product Development and brings to the firm a perspective focused on the intersection of superior design aesthetics and mechanical problem solving. His technical competency and experience in multidisciplinary product development affords a proficiency in designing around complex mechanical systems and concepts. Jason’s work is specialized in the medical and surgical fields, having designed products for diabetes management, blood separation, sleep apnea therapy, laparoscopy, cardiovascular monitoring, and miniaturized spectrometry. His experience encompasses all aspects of the design process, including ethnographic research, initial concept ideation, human factors engineering, 2D and 3D development techniques, soft goods fabrication, rapid prototyping and client management. His tenure in design consulting has granted him the opportunity to work collaboratively with industry respected clients including Philips, SC Johnson, Valspar, Dell, Abbott, and Whirlpool. He has engaged in research efforts in the United States and Europe, and has helped generate numerous design and utility patents in the optical and medical fields. Jason earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Industrial Design at the University of Notre Dame where he graduated Best in Show. He remains active in the Notre Dame Design community and has hosted several events for industry bound design students. ::Experience Industrial Designer Insight Product Development Design Consultancy May 2010 – Present Industrial Designer specializing in user/brand research, conceptualization, product development, 3D surfacing and design communication for products in the industrial, medical and surgical fields. Exhibit Design Collaborator Adler Planetarium Museum in Chicago, IL June 2013 - Present Volunteer collaborator with the Experience & Exhibit Design Teams. Role presently involves working with Adler staff to support conceptualization and visualization of new exhibits and event spaces.
