It’s refreshing to see businesses moving toward design thinking to help differentiate and shape the user experience. For the last 20 years, I’ve focused my efforts on user-centered design to help eliminate pain points and to create a complete product experience that functions intuitively, surprises, and even solves a problem or two.

If we can reserve judgment, and begin asking “what if?” and thinking, “why not?” only then, can we begin to arrive at some non-obvious solutions.

I was born in Toronto where I studied Art, Animation and Industrial Design. After 5 years at Umbra designing housewares, I moved to Shenzhen China for a year to coordinate projects and to better acquaint myself with overseas manufacturing. My last 20 years have been spent designing and developing products for Umbra, Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Disney, Nickelodeon, Chapters, Coca-Cola, Joe Fresh, Loblaws, Stott Pilates, and Merrithew.

I have a keen interested in technology and culture and the influences each have on the other.

Specialties: I lived and worked in Asia to develop designs, study materials and process on the factory floors, improve manufacturing procedures and efficiencies while implementing QC standards, approving/rejecting manufactured goods for shipments based on specifications/approval samples while eating the odd chicken foot.
