Twenty Six Characters and a Couple of Glyphs - Typographic installation at the College for Creative Studies. Each character represents a student from the 2012 graduating class. A collaborative effort, the concept explores the idea of our “home away from home” (CCS), illustrated through a custom font family we’ve created. Students contributed to the project by submitting a frame that represented the essence of their family life. Group Members: Jennifer Barrett Christopher Mueller Erin Myers
Ecostore USA Rebrand - Working collaboratively with client Ecostore USA, this sponsored project's goal was to redesign the company's branding. Goals included education for users, accessible information, conveying a positive health message, and making the system versatile for use and expansion. My contribution focused on research and ethnography, color and material, and application throughout the system. Group Members: J.Barrett, P.Catalla, L.Kercado, J.Lysse, K.Quigley
Quick Response - *This project was awarded first place for Installation Design, Adobe Design Achievement Awards, 2011. This project has also been recognized in the March 2012 edition of HOW Magazine. Interactive installation for the CCS 2011 Student Exhibition. Using environmental QR codes, it explored how digital space interacts with physical space. Part of an eleven member team, my contribution focused on the identity, signage, front end design of mobile screens and concepting.
Personality Pyramid - A visual system based on 18 data sets captured from a 13-student class. Comparisons and connections between the group were created using typography, shape and color. Using structure and geometry, each student is represented by their own triangle that explains their specific personality traits.
Nature Nurture - http://jenniferbarrettdesign.com/naturenurture/ This study examines how siblings, born and raised in the same conditions are given the opportunity to make decisions that differentiate themselves from their sibling(s). The study also displays the strength of genes, and the relationships siblings are bound by.
Visualizing Sound - A series of every day ambient sounds were expressed as abstract form and executed through letterpress. Sounds created include flossing, hair brushing and a retractable power cord. Letterpress edition of 45. Dimensions: 18"x21" (3)
