First of a five-part series about freshmen and how they get through their first year of college. "The freshmen 5" became more of a logo for following segments. I designed this page, which won 1st place in front page design for the Illinois Collegiate Press in 2006, as well as Best in Show for the Associated Collegiate Press in 2005.
Story is about the "haunted" Southern Illinois University's Old Main building. It has burnt down twice, among other odd happenings. I came up with the concept and designed page using Photoshop to create the headline
