Doha Film Fesival 2011

The 2011 Doha Film Festival was the second year that I had been hired as overall site and structures designer. ... There were 11 independent structures to be built, one of them a 2500 seat auditorium for movies and live shows with a complete backstage area, sufficient for 150 performers, below stage deck level, with dressing rooms, make up, catering, bathrooms, running water and air conditioning. All of this was build into the sea with base details 2m below high tide level. ... The auditorium was topped by the largest free-standing truss arch ever built in the Middle East.
Additionally there was a glass walled structure for the international film press, with all services and air conditioning below a deck which extended out onto the beach with a fire pit at the end.
There were also six movie screening structures, a red carpet area and multiple structures along the beach-front for entertainment on a public promenade.
