Jerri Hobdy

BFA Furniture Design Candidate — Savannah, GA

About

I am currently finishing my BFA in Furniture Design at SCAD, and most recently interned with Currey and Company designing lighting and furniture.
I started my college career in the painting department, and found myself wondering into a new passion after attending a furniture design award event in downtown Savannah at award-winning retailer and design group 24e Design Co. That week I changed my academic focus, and began down the path of product design.
As irony would have it I ended up working at the store I found my major in. I spent a year in retail sales and consultation, learning much about interior design and the furniture industry. Now, almost three years after I decided to pursue Furniture Design, I have been blessed with several opportunities, including being mentioned in Design Milk, ArtInfo, and Furniture Today. Most recently my works were featured at international design show Salone del Mobile in Milan this year.
I love the arts and design, and I would love nothing more than to have the opportunity to use both to recognize needs and design thoughtful objects.
